Paper and Submission Types

SiGS 2026 invites submissions in the following categories:

Competitive Papers

Near publication-ready research presenting fully developed studies. These papers are featured in focused sessions emphasising detailed discussion and critical feedback.

Interactive Papers

Early-stage research fostering dialogue and mentorship with senior scholars, where interactive sessions promote refinement, discussion, and development of ideas.

Case Studies

Applied research or project reports highlighting practical experiences, innovative governance, or lessons learned in climate governance, finance, and sustainable development.

Poster Presentations

Visual summaries of research, policy initiatives, or innovative practices, offering informal discussion, networking, and sharing of preliminary findings or small-scale studies.

General Submission Information

Submission System Submit all contributions through the official conference submission system.
Anonymization Required Submissions must be anonymised for review and must remove author names and affiliations.
File Format Upload documents in PDF format only.
Deadline The submission deadline for all categories is 11 January 2026.

Manuscript Preparation - Length Requirements

Competitive Papers 10,000 words Including tables and references, excluding appendices
Interactive Papers 6,000 words Including tables and references, excluding appendices
Case Studies 4,000 words Complete manuscript including all elements
Poster Abstracts 2,500 words Extended abstract format

Presentation Formats

Competitive Papers

  • Presentations: ~10 minutes with equal discussion time
  • Chairs may schedule discussions after each presentation or at the session end
  • PowerPoint presentations (~10 slides) encouraged for clarity and engagement

Interactive Papers

  • Presentations: ~7 minutes with equal discussion time
  • Focus on developing ideas and receiving feedback
  • Use PowerPoint (~7 slides) to guide discussion

Case Studies

  • Presented in dedicated sessions or integrated with paper sessions depending on the topic
  • Presentation length similar to interactive papers (~7 minutes) with discussion
  • Emphasis on practical insights and transferable lessons

Poster Presentations

  • Poster sessions organised for informal, interactive engagement
  • Presenters should be available for Q&A during scheduled poster times
  • Posters should visually communicate research aims, methods, and key findings clearly and attractively
